Using Our Parks During COVID-19

The value of outdoor recreation and enjoyment has never been clearer, and Riverfront Recapture’s priority to provide all visitors with clean, safe, and well-maintained parks and connect people to the river more important than ever.

With the well-being of our visitors in mind, we continue to evaluate the COVID-19 response guidance on public spaces and gatherings.

The trails and riverwalks are open for hiking, biking, walking, and running. Playgrounds and picnic tables are available for your use. We have temporarily disabled the water fountains within the parks. While using the parks, please keep a distance of six feet, or more, between yourself and others. Connecticut requires the use of face coverings or masks when social distancing is not possible.

  • Riverfront Recapture has tailored the rowing programming to operate safely at this time within the state guidelines.
  • The boat launches are open; review the policies here.
  • Our Volunteer and Adventure programming remains suspended.
  • The riverfront boathouse is closed for public events at this time. If you are planning a future event, tours of the venue can be scheduled.

The Riverfront parks open at sunrise and close at sunset, seven days a week. All vehicles must be out of the parking lots at sunset, at which time gates close and are locked for the night. Please remember to pick up after yourself, your children and pets, and use designated trash receptacles.
