Riverfront Recapture Seeks Proposals for Riverfront Innovation Fund

Riverfront Recapture is seeking another round of creative proposals for the Riverfront Innovation Fund, an initiative launched in 2018 to provide seed money for new riverfront projects and programs.

Organizations and individuals will have the opportunity to apply for up to $50,000 for projects that are both revenue-generating and align with Riverfront Recapture’s mission, to connect people to the Connecticut River. Applications will be accepted through midnight on February 21, 2019 at riverfront.org/innovation.

“We were thrilled with the exceptional proposals we received last year, and excited for our partnerships with the 2018 awardees, Blue Haus Group & BuzzEngine,” said Riverfront Recapture President & CEO Michael Zaleski. “We’re looking forward to investing in innovation once again, and can’t wait to see what the second round of proposals brings.”

Last year’s winning proposals from Blue Haus Group & BuzzEngine will lead to the creation of 4th Ward Riverfront Market at Charter Oak Landing and Spirit Festival, a celebration of yoga, music and wellness.

The Riverfront Innovation Fund supports enterprises and infrastructure ideas that capitalize on the Riverfront Recapture’s strengths, will attract visitors to the parks, and foster creative community connections.  More information and application guidelines are available here.
