In The News: Plan to rebuild Hartford highways gaining support, waiting for DOT

We lit the new LED lights on the Columbus Boulevard Bridge last night, and they’re not just pretty, they’re practical.

The fourth annual Hartbeat Music Festival was an amazing day of local music, art, and so much more. Thanks so much to all who attended, performed, volunteered, and to the Edward C. & Ann T. Roberts Foundation, the Greater Hartford Arts Council, Lincoln Financial Group, the Connecticut Science Center for their support of this event.

We celebrated Asian and Pacific Island cultures through traditional music and dance, hands-on arts activities, food, and martial arts at the Riverfront Asian Festival at Mortensen Riverfront Plaza on Saturday, August 21.

Riverfront Recapture and the Joe Marfuggi Riverwalk Public Art Committee have opened a Request for Qualifications to identify artists interested in developing site-specific permanent artwork to be installed along the Joe Marfuggi Riverwalk.

The Taste of the Caribbean + Jerk Festival brought a festive Caribbean atmosphere to the riverfront during a free, day-long, family-friendly festival with authentic Caribbean cuisine, cool island beverages, spectacular costumes and dance, and island rhythms.

Joe Marfuggi’s lasting legacy of uniting the region and the riverfront continues to endure. We are so pleased to announce the plans to honor Joe all along the Joe Marfuggi Riverwalk, not just in its name but also through public art installations and visual storytelling.
